The T1 is a hard-shell Aluminium rooftop tent built for the way Australians actually tour — Opens in seconds, sleeps two adults on a 7cm mattress, and packs down flat to 18cm when you’re moving.

What it’s made of

  • Shell: Aluminium hard-shell
  • Canvas: 320GSM poly-cotton ripstop rated to 3000mm hydrostatic head. That’s designed for sustained east-coast rain, not a 20-minute shower. The ripstop weave means small nicks stay small.
  • Mattress: 7cm high-density foam on a 202 × 122cm sleeping platform — a genuine double and a little longer. Your bedding stays inside when the tent is closed, so there’s nothing to unpack when you roll into camp after dark.
  • Opening: Gas struts on both sides. Release two latches and the shell lifts itself. One person, no effort, no guesswork.
  • Ladder: 2.2m telescopic aluminium. Adjusts to your vehicle height and ground angle.

Fitment

Mounts to standard crossbars or a roof platform on most 4WDs, utes with canopy racks, and many SUVs and wagons. The critical check before buying: your rack’s dynamic load rating must be at least 75kg. Find it on the rack’s own rating plate or in its manual — dynamic and static ratings are different figures, and dynamic is the one that matters. If you’re unsure, your rack supplier can confirm in a phone call.

Pickup and delivery

Price shown is for pickup from Box Hill South, VIC 3128 by appointment. We freight Australia-wide at the buyer’s expense, quoted at cost for your postcode before dispatch. A $200 deposit holds a tent for 14 days.

Everything you’d ask in the showroom

Will it fit my vehicle?

The T1 mounts to standard crossbars or a roof platform on most 4WDs, utes with canopy racks, and many wagons. One check matters: your rack’s dynamic load rating should be 75kg or more (the tent weighs 68kg). You’ll find it on the rack’s rating plate or in its manual.

How long does setup take?

Seconds, not minutes. Release the latches and the gas struts raise the shell on their own. Your mattress and bedding stay inside when folded, so there’s nothing to unpack when you arrive.

Is it waterproof?

Yes — properly. The canvas is 320GSM poly-cotton ripstop rated to 3000mm hydrostatic head, engineered for sustained heavy rain, and the aluminium hardshell roof sheds water completely.

How many people does it sleep?

Two adults, comfortably — on a genuine 202 × 122cm platform with a 7cm high-density foam mattress. Interior standing height is 150cm when open.

What warranty is included?

The T1 is covered by a 12-month warranty against manufacturing defects, alongside your Australian Consumer Law rights. Full terms are in our store policies — no surprises after you pay.

How durable is the tent?

The shell is aluminium — not ABS plastic or fibreglass — so it takes hail, low branches and years of corrugated roads without complaint. The canvas is ripstop weave: small nicks stay small instead of becoming tears.

How do pickup and delivery work?

Advertised prices are for pickup from Box Hill South, VIC 3128, by appointment (6am–12pm, or by arrangement). Bring a second able adult — the tent weighs 68kg — and we’ll help load as a courtesy. Prefer delivery? We freight Australia-wide at the buyer’s expense, billed at cost and quoted for your postcode before dispatch.

Can I reserve one, and how do I pay?

Yes — a $200 deposit holds your tent for 14 days, refunded in full if you change your mind within the hold. Paid-in-full orders can be collected within 3 months. We accept card at checkout, bank transfer, PayID, and cash on pickup — tents are released once payment has cleared.

Can I see it before I buy?

Absolutely — and we encourage it. Book an inspection through our contact page and see the T1 open and closed in person at Box Hill South before you commit a dollar.
